Sustaining our church into the future is a big financial undertaking for which each of us is responsible. The future is in our hands. For many years, our contributions and fund raising activities have not been enough to support our mission. If we continue to spend more than we take in, in less than a decade our reserves will be gone.

On April 13, we will have an opportunity to meet as a church community to talk about how we can accomplish our mission in a fiscally responsible way. We hope you can attend.

The Board of Trustees and the Finance Committee have pledged be transparent about the budget process and our financial situation and they are producing a multi-year budget that moves us toward fiscal balance. You will have a chance to look at the proposed multi-year budget and understand how its changes would affect us.
The Board of Trustees is looking at how part-time ministry might work, so the church can make informed decisions about this option in the future.

As responsible stewards of our church’s mission, we must set and meet clear realistic financial goals. Our goal is for all church members and friends to collectively pledge $120,000 for the coming year. Pledges of all kinds and sizes are appreciated, and we can’t wait to include you as a contributor to the 2013–2014 Stewardship Campaign. If each of us made a pledge, and increased the amount of our pledge by only $8 to $12 a week, next year’s deficit would be wiped out.

The future is in our hands. We are stronger together.
